Principles

Principles of Being Open to Feedback

  1. I will appreciate any feedback that you share with me, because I know it takes courage and effort to share feedback.
  2. I know that, like all humans, I have blindspots that feedback can help me see.
  3. I believe that receiving feedback (positive and negative) is important for my personal growth, and that one of the greatest joys in life is learning and improving.
  4. I will hold any feedback lightly, which means:
  5. When I feel hurt, I will remember that this is a natural human response, Pain + Reflection = growth, and this perspective does not define me, but something in this feedback might open an opportunity for me to grow and improve
  6. When I feel proud, I will remember that this is a natural human response, also does not define me or mean that I will not fail in the future or in someone else’s perspective, but I will aim to replicate what I did well, in the future.
